I have written and modifed vb scripts to create step files within UG. Now I would like to go a few steps futher and create and bat file or a powershell script to open and run one of the stand alone translators.

I am need of some direction or information that would head me in the write direction.

You probably write a VB script you run a WINDOWS program (and not utilize NX) to execute the external translator.
Or just place a shortcut to the translator on your desktop.
Batch files are not an issue for the external translators.

Windows -> Start -> programs -> UGSNX -> Translators ... .

Look in the NX help file at Home -> data translation -> data translators -> running translators from the command line and other related pages. If you have VBScript or PowerShell experience, you should be able to take it from there.
