The small company I work for has recently taken on an aircraft that uses 5/32" control cables and I need to calibrate our tensiometer appropriately. A bit of a long shot I know but if anyone has just removed an unservicable 5/32" cable in the UK and can send it by post to the southeast, let me know!

You're dead right of course. I just rattled off that message as soon as I realised the cables were larger than our usual 1/8". Speaking to the boss later in the day, he said he'll buy a metre new for £3!

Our Pacific Scientific tensiometer hasn't been calibrated on 5/32" cable for some years and our yearly tool calibration isn't due until January. A length of cable and some known dead weights is a perfectly acceptable solution in the meantime and is pretty much what the calibration companies do anyway.

Anyway, problem solved, case closed.
