I've come across them in the past, but I'll be darned if I can find them again... inexpensive 12V inverters for electroluminescent (EL) panels. By inexpensive I mean something in the $5-$6 range. I need to power about 8in2 per inverter, so power requirements are quite small (and the size of the inverter should be relatively small, as well). Quantity will be in the low tens (20-30 required).
Specs should be in the area of 100-120Vac, 400Hz (+/-).
I have a few in that price range for EL wire, but all of the inverters I've come across for EL wire so far use a higher frequency (1kHz+), which would burn out the EL panel more quickly than I would like (but it would be pretty darn bright for a while).
