Dear sahsanb,

Is this a fixed tube sheet heat exchanger? You intend to take out each tube and replace with new ones after required rolling and seal / strength welding?

This is the job of local contractor. As the client, you need to support him by assisting him regarding mock-up test for seal welding.

In case the tube sheets are refractory lined or the tubes have ferrules inside them, you need to bring in a reputed refractory company after complete tube replacement. The internet offers you a few names.

Yes this is a fixed tube sheet type heat exchanger and we want to replace all tubes. Tube sheet thickness on one end is 430 mm & tube is expanded & seal welded in this tube sheet. While other tube sheet is refractory lined and is 31 mm thick, its tube to tube sheet joint is orbital welding.


Refractory repair is not the problem, the biggest challenge we see is quick and easy removal of tubes from 430 mm thick tube sheet. Please name a few contractors that can do this job at client site
