I have been looking for information regarding what is an acceptable amount of misalignment of pipes. Specifically I am looking at a repair where an apparemntly threadless splice fitting is used above a new valve and the centerline of the connected 2" steel pipe that extends from the fitting is approximately 4 degrees off from the centerline of the valve and fitting.
Second question: is it mandatory that water service pipes of this size be restrained from moving, or left to the installers judgement. Local water pressure can hit 80 to 100 psi in places.
