Hi All,

I am looking for a pressure sensor to detect water pressure in a sump. Sensor has to be in contact with the water media directly. It should be water proof and insensitive to sun light. Also, I want the sensor the dimensions of the sensor to be relatively small. Can anyone help me in locating the vendors for this type of sensor?

Thanks for your help.

I'd check with a large plumbing supply house for mercury switch used in septic tanks to activate pumps or warning devices. They may be too big for you, but seem to work forever.

If you are looking for something to measure "pressure" there are many vendors that carry pressure transducers.
For short term monitoring the in-Situ mini Trolls and Solinst Leveloggers, and similar variants from other vendors work great. They both have built in data logging capabilities and can be rented readily. Global Water and the likes have stand-alone transducers as well that have 4-20 mA outputs to interface with pump controls.
