water surface profile problem using hec2

I want to know that is there any other freeware software avaiable which is easy to use like hec-2 for water surface profile problems.
Any one who is using this software please guide me from where i can download this and how to install i have try it downloading from

You might want to try HEC-RAS (the "friendlier" version of HEC-2). You can download it from the Army Corp. of Engineers site, but I think it's pretty big so you better have a high speed connection.

Since it's a Windows application it will guide you through the setup process.
