Hi all,

I am a newbie at WaterCAD, kinda know what I am doing but I need some help from advanced friends.

If there is a way to change the default pipe size while you are modeling a system, it would be really helpful. Right now When I put the junctions, it is always 6" ductile iron pipe, can I change this setting to be a 4" steel pipe for example? How? I am using WaterCAD V8 XM for AutoCAD 2006.

Thanks

When you start a project in WaterCAD you have the option of setting the defaults. You can set them once your project is established (right-click on the screen), but that won't reset the pipes already set up. I believe you can multi select and right-click to properties and change multiple pipes in one go. Pipe size and material/roughness should be on the same tab.

Francesca, sorry but I didnt get what you meant...you cant right click the properties first of all, and i need the do this after i begin the project, so i cant set it up from the beginning, please a liitle more claficiations...thanks though...

When you create a new project, the welcome screen allows you to set the defaults. If you have already set one up, you can right-click and go to properties or something similar. With an established project, changing the defaults won't change the existing pipes, so you'll have to do a group select/edit.

To change the default pipe size, go to Tools, Prototypes, then select Pressure Pipe. Now you can change any pipe properties you want.
