Hi All,
I'm new to this forum, so I hope this is an OK place to post this. If not, mods please feel free to move and/or advise on where it's best posted.
I am trying to design a Spring House for a Spring Water Capture site. One of the requirements is to prevent incursion of surface groundwater into the water supply to be collected. This will be accomplished both with a retaining wall upslope to divert surface water, and a means of preventing water from coming under the concrete wall of the spring house, which will be anchored to exposed basalt bedrock.
Has anyone done anything like this before? I'm leaning towards using bentonite (lining the back of the retaining wall and as a waterstop under the spring house wall), but would like to hear any other ideas.
Also, if anyone has some good recommendations for anchoring the wall to the basalt, I'm all ears. I'm currently looking at post-installed rebar dowels set in the basalt with Hilti HIT-HY 200 epoxy, but wondering if anyone has seen/done anything different?
Thanks all,
df
