Another question resulting from mark ups...

I have created a drawing with a partial section view of a part: a mark up has been given to me requesting that the edges of the partial section view be wavey (that's my description, on the mark-up I have a nice little diagram, so as I don't get confused...) as opposed to the square edges I get by default.

Can this be done?

I don't understand how a section view (partial or otherwise) could have "wavey" edges. The edges shown would be the 'cut' profile edges of the part. Do you mean a Broken-out Section?

Can you scan and post an image of the mark-up?

I am suspicious that this request does not come from a technical person, eh? SW creates drawings that match standards, I have never seen wavy outlines as a standard. No-non-nevertheless, here is how you do it:
Create your section view like a normal drafter. Be sure you have selected 'hidden lines removed' for the view. Drag that section view off somewhere and lock focus on it. Sketch a spline around the section so that it makes wavy lines thru the outline of the section. This will be tedious and time consuming to get right. Select the spline then click Insert|Drawing View|Detail and wallah, you have it.

SnowCrash - The critical factors in my relationship to the man that checks my drawings are thus:

1. He is the one who pays me.

The only answer I tend to need is, "yes boss". Occasionally punctuated with, "I agree". ;)

Actually, on the whole he's pretty damn good, but there have been a few interesting requests made in the past...

Your solution worked perfectly, btw. I'll add - if I may - that once the view is created, you can pinch the note from the section and swap it with the view note.

I suppose my only complaint is a lack of alignment between the line A-A and the view. Think I can overcome that, however.

Thanks again!

hititfaster,
Rule #2. When boss is wrong, see rule #1.
I worked for him, too, I think. ;-)
