RE: (Wave Energy Project) We’re currently trying to figure out the right approach for describing wave loads from the wave data so that we can give appropriate direction to one of our contractors in regards to structural analysis & design and I have a couple questions for the group.
-In regards to guidelines and standards which standards are applicable from the offshore oil & gas industry or other applicable industry?
-What software tools are usually used that input statistical wave data and output wave loads (e.g. WAMIT)?

Your time zone says you should probably stick closer to home with the API series. Although most are targeted for fixed structures,

Similar to offshore oil and gas, using 100-year wave, wind, and current conditions seem to be common. DNV gives nice guidelines on this.
