We are in a discussion about the effect of oxidants on cast irons and bronze.
Don't really know exact metal composition, but both iron and bronze are the types used in pumps running clear water.

Will imeller speed cause higher degree of oxidation on fast moving impeller more than on the volute case?
Or rephrased, does velocity have noticeable effect of how fast an oxidant corrodes metals in general, iron and bronze specifically?
How about pressure?

These questions come up often in pumps.

pressure will only have an effect if its negative ie cavitating
velocity will have an effect you get erosion/corrosion if the velocity is high enough , I think it depends on how tenacious the oxide layer is and how easy it is to sweep the surface clean leaving it open to more corrosion...see what more learned persons say to this post or checkout erosion /corrosion...would have thought that in clean water with bronze there eould not be a problem
