Please someone could help me search for a material with good properties of wear resistant or high hardness and simultaneously with electrical resistance features. This material is to be used as a tool disc to block and guide a fin strip plate and push it against tube where is to be welded with high frequency welding process, in that matter a reason to avoid electric current passing through the tool because it erodes the material regarding the effects of electrical fatigue.

I appreciate all your help. Thanks.

Try any of the ceramic materials, which can be hard, wear resistant, but electrically insulating.

Please, do you have any material proposal for this option and conditions as below?

Service Temperature: 40ºC
Service Pressure : 40 barg

The goal is a long life term for disc material, be able to maintain the dimensional and chemical characteristics.

Ceramic --> alumina comes to mind

FAQ731-376

Look for ceramics, specifically silicon nitride, which usually has better fracture toughness than alumina. Ceratizit (Austria and elsewhere in Europe) and BeaTec (Germany) both offer silicon nitride for these types of applications. BeaTec already fabricates parts for the tube forming industry:

Look at toughened zirconia products. They have better toughness and are still fairly hard.
