What is the maximum weaving that can be done by GTAW and SMAw process

There is no specific answer to your question because it depends on several factors -base material to be joined, application and welding process. In some situations, weaving may not be permitted, and the welding procedures or welder instructions for the procedure are stated, as such. I have seen welding procedures with instructions that limit a weave to 3X or even 5X the electrode diameter. Overall, bead width is most important, and should be the limiting factor for weaving.
