We have the job of lifting a pipeline facilities in deep muskeg conditions, the use of cranes is very limited, we have been using airbags to lift ,however the soils up to now have been dense enough to allow us to lift without pushing the skid decks that hold them into the soil. Unfortunately I foresee this as a problem in muskeg condition.
The pipeline is buried and will be dug out, the Valve to be lifted in above ground and it sits in below ground saddles, which need to lowered, this is the reason for lifting.
my question would be , would a fillcrete base for the skid piles be enough to hold the airbags,
Approx 100,000lbs and I have 6, 70 ton air bags to use for lifting,
If there is another solution I am all ears.
