Weld Assistant Usage-NX5

I have opened a new part and created two plates so I can try the weld function. I have the Weld Assistant on my menu bar. Now when I select one of the weld choices nothing happens. Is this a module I may not have rights to use or do I need to set something.

Yes, the Weld Module is a separate module that requires a license.

Thank you John, we must not have it. I will recommend the purchase of this module to our IT department. It looks like it could be of great use if welding is in ones design toolbox of tricks.

I would have thought you have gotten an error message the said something like, "Module not purchased", or "License not available", but no nothing whatsoever!

I think this is a bit odd. I'd prefer to get a more informative response than that.

I double checked with our IT admin this morning and he confirmed we did not have the Weld Module John referred to. Not that we need it, I was just surprised that the menu would allow me to make a selection and not give any feedback on whether the module existed or not. Our IT guy suggested NX should at least let you know you do have the module in question and then give you a salesman's name to purchase it.
