weld build up using unassigned to unassigned WPQR

hello gents
i have read through ASME IX and am still at a loss.

I have a WPQR GTAW welding an unassigned material to another unassigned material.
If i use the same essential and supplemenatry variables to GTAW weld build up one of the unassigned materials used in the WPQR - am i ok to do this?

any help greatly appreciated

Yes, you are permitted to use unassigned base materials to qualify them.
