Weld design for doubler plate in moment connections?

Hi,
I ask about weld design for doubler plate in moment connections how can we calculate it,you surely know that it used to improve column's web strength.

Figure out what share of the joint shear is going to be assigned to the doubler plates and then size the welds for those forces. You should find yourself an example some place:

- AISC manual
- AISC seismic manual
- AISC example problems
- Most good steel texts

Sometimes doublers need to be plug welded in their interiors to prevent doubler plate buckling.

The greatest trick that bond stress ever pulled was convincing the world it didn't exist.
 
Refer to AISC design guide 13 (wide flange column stiffening at Moment Connections). They talk a good amount about web doubler plates.
