Can anyone provide me recommendations - experience - issues - and which weld electrode to use in weld procedure qualification:

ASME Section VIII, Division 1 pressure vessel

1. Tee Joint Weld SA516GR70 (2" THK) ring to SA542GRB CL4 (4" THK) shell service is at 2500 psig and 600 F - weld process and which weld electrode to use

2. Fillet Weld Inconel 600 (1/4" THK))to SA542GRB CL4 (4" THK) shell service is at 2500 psig and 600 F - weld electrode and which weld electrode to use

Thanks in advance

Recommended for you

1. E7018 or E71T-1M or Equivalent
2. INCO 82 and Equivalent

For item 1, you could also use E8018-B2 or E9018-B3 or equivalent. The long time at the required holding temp will lower the strength of the E7018 and E71T-1M weld deposit but no where near below the specified minimum yield strength of the SA-516 Gr70 ring.

Metengr - Welding is a Field application

SMAW process and E8018 B2 for (1). Inco 182 for (2).

Thanks to all for the responses
