What is the fix for 1/2" weld holes in 20ga. composite floor decking? Not what contractors usually do but a standard requirement this is a USACE project. Please provide the standard (SDI?) where I can find it.
Thanks

To my knowledge there is no way to responsibly fix this if you actually need the capacity at that point; At least not anything that will cost less than replacing the sheets.

Normally you can allow the occasional "idiot" hole... I've only required it to be removed and replaced once.

Check to see if you really need ALL the capacity first; The best repair is actually a small amount of formwork tied to the far side to prevent concrete from leaking out.

WATCH YOUR BACK WITH THIS CONTRACTOR. If they have done this, they may very well do other shoddy work, and now a lawyer could point out that you were aware they stank and should have been more closely monitored. RED FLAG.

There is the SDI "Manual of Construction with Steel Deck", but 1/2" holes are not likely covered. The 1/2" hole will not really effect the capacity of the deck unless there are numerous ones closely spaced. The main issue would be to make sure that concrete does not spill through. A small piece of sheet metal could be placed over the hole, but 1/2" will likely be overlooked unless there is something of great value below it.

If the deck is visible from below, and aesthetics are a concern, you can have them replace badly damaged sections.
