Dear Sir/madam,
I have a question about welding to ASME IX and ASME VIII .
I'm currently desgning a pressure vessel.
Due to space restrictions I can't get around the following construction:
A fillet weld closing the cooling jacket overlaps a buttweld of a connecting pipe to the cooling jacket.
I've talked to the people in our workshop and my direct colleagues, and we see no technical difficulties.
My question is:
Does welding (according to ASME IX) a pressure vessel (according to ASME VIII) allow for welds of different parts of the construction to over lap?
Your input would be highly appreciated
Regards,
