Hello,

We have to weld a galvanized gutter of a metal roof using TIG. We had been asked to provide a WPQ and WPS for this process. Does anybody knows which code or stanard covers it?

Thanks

WPQ and WPS are the welder performance certification and weld procedure specification for ASME Section IX.

ASME A112.6.4 is probably going to be the closest you'll get, outside of a local code, for gutters.

I'm assuming you're aware of the risks around welding galvanized?

AWS D9.1 can be used for sheet metal, and is relatively user friendly.

TIG isn't the most friendly process for using on galvanized metal though. Porosity is an issue. And I would 2nd Rputvin's comments about making sure you are mitigating galvanized welding risks.
