Welding allowables on S700 steel

Hi All,

I am facing a bit of an issue in deriving the allowable stress for several weld categories (butt, fillet as per AS4100/ EN-1993-1-9-2005 fatigue). Voestalpine publishes data with 95% connection survival, allowing about 250 MPa on a butt weld at 2E6 cycles. EN1993 allow the same as for mild steel (fracture mechanics approach).

Would anyone encounter this issue before? The only thread I found on this lead to an expired page and by researching I did not come up with any further recommendation for stress allowables with S700 weldments.

Based upon data I have seen for weldments over the years, I believe you will need to contact the International Institute of Welding (IIW). If there is any organization able to source or provide this information, it would be IIW. I also believe you will need to pay for this information.
