Many companies in my industry weld API 2H per ASME BPVC IX, including my company for many years. We've been using the "out" that the MTRs for the API 2H plate also list A537 and/or A633, which are listed ASME IX materials. However it seems like this isn't quite right.

Should I be specifying dual-cert API 2H+ASTM A537/A633?
Or is something else typically done?

Thanks for your input.

More details...
Many API specs (ie 2C, 8C) recognize or require welding per ASME BPVC IX.
API 2H does not list the ASME recognized specs as a requirement.
Same issue for ASTM / ABS / DNV EH36 & similar materials.
Yes we have PQRs and WPSs for ASME IX material group#/P#'s.

You can always qualify your WPS on API 2H material in accordance with ASME IX. If you purchase the material dual certified

You could qualify API 2H as an unassigned metal. QW-424 for requirements.
