Hi People! I'm new to the forum please excuse me if the answer of my question is too obvious.

I'm working on designing a vacuum chamber and I'm currently comparing between a D-shaped and rectangular chamber, made of AL 6061 T6. I did most of the calculations and I have the value of the total stress at the corner (ST)Q, as per 13-7 (a). When trying to compare it with the allowable design stress (SE) for the rectangular chamber, I'm not sure which value of E to choose. According to table UW-12, I think I would want to select type no. (7) as the joint is at the corner but there is no value there. In this case should I just go to UW-12 (d)and choose E=0.85? It confuses by saying "seamless vessel section"... I don't think it really is a seamless section but I can't find any E value for corner joints except this one...

Please help!TIA!!!

E = 1.00 for butt joints in compression. See Table UW-12
