We will be fabicating a Heat Exchanger wherin the shell material is SA 333 Gr 6 and the Tube Sheet material is SB 171.

Joint configuraion of tubesheet to shell weld is a corner joint. Have not worked before with SA 171 and would like some information regarding WPS/PQR quals for Sa 333 Gr 6 to SB 171. what sort of electrodes/wire to be used current voltage etc.

What is your specific tubesheet material? SB 171 covers various copper-based alloys.

The dissimilar weld between naval brass and low carbon steel can be deposited using an SFA 5.6 ECuAl-A2 (aluminum bronze) electrode.

The brass tubesheet will require a local preheat of 500 deg F, with a maximum interpass temperature of 600 deg F. I don't have any specifics on welding parameters. I would contact one of the welding supply companies to obtain this information.
