I'm looking for any information about welding P1 to P8 using C276 Hastelloy ( P43 ) filler wire in all
my years I have never heard of using this combination before it has always been 309/L SS or even 316 /L SS.
and will it meet ASME sec.9.

Being a dissimilar metal weld (DMW), you should be using either 309 (depending on the service temperature the DMW is exposed to in service) or Inco weld 182 or 82 versus C276.

Section IX is a service code book that provides rules for weld procedure and welder (braze and brazer as well) qualification. There is nothing in Section IX regarding selection of materials, that is up to you. I could qualify coat hanger wire on carbon steel using Section IX.

C276 Hastelloy ( P43 ) filler for a P1 #P8 weld joint would be highly over blown?? One may pass Sec-IX test with C-276 filler.I would say this would have been the choice for a P1 to Hastelloy weld joint.
309L/309LMo makes bulk of the DMW's between P1#P8,the other selection is In-82/In-182.

While I have seen E/ERNiCrMo-4 used for a dissimilar weld of C.S. to Duplex stainless steel, I have never seen it used for a P-1 to P-8 weld. While it could be done, why would you want to? Too great an overmatch.
