Hello,
Recently I discovered that the new version of CosmosWorks incorporates weldment analysis. This is a very interesting development because I thought that beams were not available in CosmosWorks (at least for Designer and Professional). The animation on this new functionality on the solidworks site looks very promising indeed, but 'standard' sections are used and taken from the library. Since we also are using beams that are created by folding sheet metal plates, we want an analysis tool that can also work with beams having different kinds of cross sections. Can anybody tell me if this is also supported in the new version? And if so, even more important: how are the results, do they correspond with analytical checks or are the delta's relatively large (maximum bending/shear stresses and especially results in areas where beams are welded at a certain angle to each other)?
Thanks,
Tomson
