There are a few old Grip programs that might do something like that I'm not sure if NX still ships with the development library. We modified one of those with similar intent some time back. The functionality may be a bit crude but it beat the alternatives.
Post if you've access to a grip development license and if applicable I could rummage through the backups for you.
This thing just creates a point table with labels. Maybe you will find it easy enough to modify to suit your needs. I won't take sole credit for it. It dates back around 1990 and was adapted from something we got out of the development library.
