Wet scrubbing to remove how much of what from what? Please be specific and give us more details!

Thks mbeychok

our application is a extraction system connected to 2 fume cupboards. The following substances will be used inside the cupboards :-
Hydrofluoric acid
Nitric acid
Ammonia
Washing soda
Lemsolv (solvent)
Ethanol
Pool acid
Extrin (solvent)

We want to minimise the emissions discharged in to the atmosphere. The design flow rate of the system = 1.3 m³/s

Currently high levels of
Hydrogen Chloride
Nitric Acid
Hydrogen Fluoride

Are found at the stack outlet.

I am looking for information on how to select the correct type and size of scrubber.

What is youre company all about?

mechanicaldup:

The PlasticAir Company has a website at:

www.plasticair.com <== click here

which includes a products catalogue for their product line of wet scrubbers. Both their HCS-Series horizontal and VCS-Series vertical scrubbers include units that would handle your 1.3 cubic meter per second flow rate.

I believe you could easily find other such vendors by performing a Google search.

Thks again mbeychok

Do you perhaps know where can I find literature on scrubber design & selection?

What type of scrubber would be the most suitable? Plate type scrubber?

Here is a short description of Acidising process taking place in the fume cupboards: The Product is boiled in Nitric Acid on a hot plate. These fumes should extracted by the scrubber unit.

Is someone perhaps aware of a site where I can find info on Stack desig and the creation of dispersion models?

mbeychok,
Thanks for link to . It's as good a reference on scrubber design and selection as I've seen.

Your book on Stack design and air dispersion modeling looks interesting, too.

There is one among us who should be reading these posts. ;-)
