our application is a extraction system connected to 2 fume cupboards. The following substances will be used inside the cupboards :-
Hydrofluoric acid
Nitric acid
Ammonia
Washing soda
Lemsolv (solvent)
Ethanol
Pool acid
Extrin (solvent)

We want to minimise the emissions discharged in to the atmosphere. The design flow rate of the system = 1.3 m³/s

Currently high levels of
Hydrogen Chloride
Nitric Acid
Hydrogen Fluoride

Are found at the stack outlet.

I am looking for information on how to select the correct type and size of scrubber.

What type of scrubber would be the most suitable? Plate type scrubber?


Here is a short description of Acidising process taking place in the fume cupboards: The Product is boiled in Nitric Acid on a hot plate. These fumes should extracted by the scrubber unit.
