I need to refresh my knowledge about the interoperability betwenn NX and S/E.

Following steps are they possible in NX 7.5 or 8)and S/E (ST???) ?

1°) Open S/E part in NX
add some feature
change the S/E part
update the NX part

2°) Open NX part in S/E
make the drawing
change the NX part
update the S/E part

TIA

I can't speak for the Solid Edge side, but with NX we have an Interoperability function which supports updating Solid Edge data (at least the model data) opened in NX and which was used in subsequent NX modeling operations or was referenced by some downstream application such as CAM or CAE.

Hi John

I have done the first test with a customer which gave me a S/E part and the same with some modification.

I was able to do an update manually by double clic on the first feature but is there any way to know that the S/E part was modified ?

TIA

To see the status of the interop, right-click on the SE part in the Assembly Navigator, and go to Properties - Interoperability. Here you see the name of the SE file, and when it we last updated.
If it is out of date, push the button Update from File
