HELP REQUIRED ON PHOTOGRAMETRY

We are a company specialising in low level aerial photography from the ground! The camera is attached to the top of a telescopic mast which in turn is mounted on a 4x4 on/off road vehicle. The mast can operate to a maximum height of 70-feet and is amongst the highest in the World.

The mast can reach any location accessible by a 4x4 vehicle thus enabling us to photograph buildings not always accessible by either plane or helicopter. We provide the option for the client to view the exposure on-site using a video downlink to a TV monitor in the vehicle before the photograph is taken.

We use a wide range of 35mm still cameras which, via sophistucated remote controls, ensure superb oblique photography including close-up, zoom and wide angle photographs.

We have just been advised by an architect that our system is suitable for photogrametry on buildings (i.e churches, architectural features, stonework, etc.) but we have little knowledge of this subject. Can anyone give us any advice or recommend someone with whom we can discuss this matter further.

The system can indeed be used in photogrammetry. This is a vast subject and possibly best handled by a person knowledgable in this area. There are a few packages etc available which will allow you to convert your photographs into a 3-D cad etc. Try
