Posted this in the Simulation forums but never got a response. Trying to get some input on ideas for analyzing a system described below.

I'm modeling a structure that slides along a rail with various applied loadings. I've been using the static solver in the past, however, we recently upgraded to full Simulation package. In order to use the static solver, I basically force-balance the system to try to mitigate axial reactions at the rail interface since they aren't statically held in place in reality. Obviously this isn't the appropriate boundary condition to use. Would the static nonlinear solver, or dynamic solver, help me model this sliding assembly more appropriately?
