Dear Experts,
I’ve come across the procedures some paint manufacturers follow to revalidate expired coating/lining materials.
In a previous instance, we placed full responsibility on the paint manufacturer and insisted on their presence during internal inspections (both Visual and Holiday) for a Fire Water Tank. That ensured a proper accountability framework.
Now, a similar situation has come up again with the same manufacturer. They have revalidated the expired paint through our contractor, extending its validity until May 2025, although the material had already expired in January 2025. However, the material receiving inspection has not been carried out yet. The paint has been stored in a temperature-controlled (air-conditioned) facility since then.
I’d like to clarify the following:
I do have a fair understanding of how this should be handled, but would appreciate your insights or recommendations to ensure nothing is overlooked.
Thanks

I’d like to clarify the following:
- Is a third-party lab certificate for the same batch, along with a guarantee letter from the manufacturer, sufficient for acceptance?
- Are field tests (e.g., adhesion tests on panels) also required in this scenario?
I do have a fair understanding of how this should be handled, but would appreciate your insights or recommendations to ensure nothing is overlooked.
