Hello Guys:
I am interested to know about the next stage of Corrosion Engineering? What is the next challenge in this field? How much have we achieved in the past couples of decades? What are the problems we are still concerned about Corrosion? All kind of details/explanation or even a link to some source will be helpful.

Thanks
Masih

One area that I see is the meeting of 'nano-everything' and 'smart' or 'adaptive' materials.
I foresee potential in materials that have surfaces that change in response to corrosion risk.
At a minimum these could indicate when there was a risk of active corrosion.
in the long run the materials would change in order to better fight the specific corrosion risk, and only at the location that needed it.

Ed,
I totally agree with you.
Everything is made of materials, which interact at their surfaces. One of nanotech's great promises is manipulation of surfaces.
