Greetings,

Can anyone provide insight on layout consideration for for batch reactors. Also maintenance, operation and construction factors that needs to consider while fixing the layout.
step by step consideration/study like we do in column piping.
Any reference book or article suggestion will be the

Thanks in advance,

These are generally proprietary and may not adhere to ASME Sec VIII Div 1. A better idea is to ask quotations from vendors who specialize in such designs. The technical bids would have what you are looking for.

Shiv...

I still do not understand your "layout consideration for for batch reactors" ...

How is this any different than the general plant layout for tank farms, petrochem facilities, paint plants etc ?

Have you ever done any plant layout engineering ?

There are many tradeoffs and simple installation and maintenance considerations ..

It is almost as if you are asking, "What are the torque requirements for BLUE anchor bolts?"

Anybody else a little confused here ?

Obviously, from your picture, you must consider:

- Maintenance of mixers (including motor and shaft removal)
- Access to top of vessel
- Access to any valves or instruments on the bottom of the vessel
- Access to any relief devices
- Maintenance ingress at any manway for periodic internal inspection

etc.... etc.....

But this listing seems pretty obvious to me....

Shiv has posted this same question in several forums ..... I still don't understand what he wants ....

You have to consider the material flow and resource/space requirements for construction, commissioning, start-up, normal operation, shutdown, turnarounds, moth-balling, and all emergency situations. That’s all!

Giving Latexman a star - The breadth of his reply was an appropriate match to such a broad question.

OP, if you have specific questions regarding layout (overhead space requirements, operator/maintenance access, required staging floor space), then please list them. However, as written, your question is so general that it will make any reply here worthless.

I know of no books that address plant layout, and I doubt one exists. This is something that is process specific and is a skill that is developed with experience.
