What drives the GM KBTD toolbar in NX 7.5? 1

I am an IT Technician for a company that designs shipping racks and containers for an array of different companies.

Our designers are required to use the GM Toolkit and NX7.5. It is running on a Windows 7 64 bit machine. One designer recently tried using the KBTD toolbar and is getting the error, "Error: Storing Drafting Parameters".

This error comes up on all documents after clicking Start, Modeling, and then Structural Shapes.

Does anyone know where this error could be stemming from? I am getting help from a Siemens support personnel, but not having any success so far.

Things I have tried:
1. Comment out section for UNIX_GLOBAL in the gmlaunch.dat file.
2. Sent the log file to the support personnel.
3. Upgraded from NX7.5.0.32 to NX7.5.2.5 MP3 Rev G
4. Uninstalled NX completely, re-installed base 7.5 and then the updates to 7.5.2.5 MP3 Rev G

None of these steps have made a difference. I have a feeling it has something to do with the gmlaunch5.2.bat file or the gmlaunch.dat file.

Have you got all the PDL updates and the latest config file installed? We've found that the base release of the PDL and config had items missing.

I've just tested on Windows 7 64bit and that button works OK.

Sieman's GTAC personal should direct you to GM for all help with the GM toolkit. The toolkit was developed by GM and GM maintains it. Contact your GM rep for the latest files.

namdaci45: looks like the latest supplier toolkit that we have is the 7-A.4.1. Do you think that the 4.2 will fix this problem?

Namdaci45: I updated the GMPDL to patch 7.4.2. Now when the designer attempts to use the structural shape option, the error "The crosshatch definition file cannot be found" and then after you hit okay, the "error: storing drafting parameters" comes up.

Any ideas?

Some special setting must be made, maybe you have a problem with the gmtools installation, or files settings are missing or wrong.
in some cases you have to contact the gm staffs you working with to get this input(maybe it not relevant to your task)- tool library, etc. -

Check for the variable UGII_UTIL in your .dat file. It should be pointing to your install e.g. C:\eng_apps\tk_gpdl7a\config\sym_library\win

Also make sure that there is only the one occurence of the variable in your .dat file.
