What equipment is used to grind a 45 degree, included angle, on a .125 diameter m2 rc64 pin?
the pin is 3 inches long the volume is 35k to 600k.

grinderguy,
The machines that I'm acquainted with are in-house designed machines. You would not believe the age of the machines.

What type of accuracy/precision do you need for the point?

I have a friend whom I would call a pointologist. He designed our machines and has seen most of the point grinding machines in the business. Our machine would do the job except for the diameter, too large. I’ll try to get in touch with him for an insight

I would get in touch with a drill point grinder manufacturer. If they don’t have the machine they might point you in the right direction. That much grinding is going to be chore.
Drill points

I know Torrington can do the work, but have no idea of their machines other than some are in-house. They made a lot of points for us.

I would also hit on my abrasive supplier for information on who makes these machines.
