What is better to work with for dimensioning in NX7, JT or STEP?

Have a question for those that have worked in a mixed CAD environment - what is better to work as reference data when modeling and drafting in NX7, JT or STEP? Been hearing issues with some folks that try to use JT in NX that they cannot dimension correctly - yet I am leery of total reliance on STEP (especially if questions about how it was created in the other CAD system comes up).

If the JT file contains only lightweight (i.e. facet data) then there is NO accurate/precise model available for Drafting or other operations. In that case, STEP would provide more usable model date. However, if the JT does contain the b-rep data as well as the lightweight, then you could go either way.

Thanks John - that makes sense. How about sharing Parasolids? While the data maybe "dead"/"dumb" (i.e. no parametics) that should be better than STEP, correct?

If all I was interested in was the solid models and nothing else, I would go with Parasoild everytime.

From what I am seeing in my testing - I completely understand. Thanks again for the assistance.
