Came across this on the interwebs without any explanation. Can't really see what all is involved here, any ideas why the coin(?) is spinning & levitating?

Fork from top and finger from top cast no shadows.
Reflections on fork from top inconsistent with assumed lighting location based on shadows.

Conclusion: Manipulated video.

I agree with Mint.
With an otherwise static display of the 'square' this was all shot at different times.
Coin with a string to it spinning and lowered. Run backwards.
Fork added for more confusion.

A motor spinning a magnet under the table.
A stronger magnet on the other end of the fork.
Or a string and editing.
A spinning under table magnet and a string?

It might have been a little more convincing fake if they connected something to both ends of the batteries.
A battery connected at only one terminal does nothing!

Definitely fake. The fork not only does not cast a shadow, it casts a negative shadow by removing the shadow of the rearmost fork. And, there's a frame or two where the tips of the moving fork's tines disappear, because the spinning coin's background interferes with the fork's pasting. Frame-by-frame analysis also shows block errors in pasting the spinning coin into the background.

Curiously, the GIF expanded to 1194 frames when I extracted the frames using Movie Studio, but IrfanView claims there's only 358 images.

It is apparently supposed to conjure up some image of electromagnetic action. I'll use that as a segue to talk about me.... I have three electromagnetic youtube videos myself (mine aren't fake)

1 - Magnet moves water (diamagnetism). Some gutter-minded people have suggested the music and the content resemble a porno movie...that was not my intent.

2 - Permanent magnet generator with no relative motion between magnet and coil. This is just supposed to be a simple demo of Faradays law, nothing to do with free energy (the core path is reconfigured, which takes energy), but I think the title got the free energy nuts interested so I have gotten almost half a million views).

3 - Demo - force on iron vs conductor
This last one demonstrates that when current-carrying conductors are embedded in iron slots (as in a typical industrial moor), the torque producing force acts primarily on the conductors, not on the copper (even though many simple textbooks might steer you otherwise). More details on this:
The Short Version
The Long Version
This force on iron vs conductor all arose out of a bitter dispute with a guy on maintenanceforums.com in 2006. The guy I argued with was a real piece of work... his main goal was to sell himself as an expert in motors, even though he knew very very little about the theory. I disagreed with him routinely because he spouted out stuff that was just plain wrong. In order to protect his image he started trying to tear me down. That motivated me to prove him wrong with a mountain of documentation / proof that no-one could disagree with (but he still disagreed, on basis of whatever BS he could shovel). 14 years later, it's hard for me to believe how much time I wasted on that. On the bright side, it did turn into a mildly-interesting presentation to EPRI Large Electric Motor User's Group, but not much else.
