I need to know what cast flint is. It is a type of steel we once used for sprockets on large coal scraper conveyors, but have since replaced with a different material. I want to know its hardness, strength, etc to compare to what we are currently using.

HAVE A LOOK AT WOLDMAN'S 'ENGINEERING ALLOYS' WHICH LISTS FLINTCAST AS AN ABRASION RESISTANT IRON OF TC 3.3%,SI 2.4% AND CR 1% AND MENTIONS THE MATERIAL AS 'OBSOLETE'
