They are the same application, Creo Simulate is just a rebranding of Pro Mechanica. The UI is updated with the ribbon but the solver and capabilities are the same.

Just to clarify/correct the above post, there are actually a lot more differences/enhancements in Creo Simulate 1.0 compared to Wildfire 5.0 than just the name...

In fact the Creo Simulate 1.0 release had a large number of solver/functionality additions:
- ability to perform contact analysis with LDA turned on
- generalized ability to couple the various nonlinearities (plasticity, hyperelasticity, LDA, contact...)
- time-based load histories (essential for the above enhancements!)
- 2D axisymmetric nonlinear analyses
- nonlinear springs
- solid bolt preloading
- temperature dependent conductivity
- grey body radiation
- moving thermal loads (think: welding)
- dynamics solver performance overhaul
- Meshing tools (structured meshing, thin solids, prismatic bodies, auto clean-0up...)
- etc

This is just from the top of my head. The full list is very long! And of course Creo 1.0 is kind of old now. There are many nice things coming (including new mechanics, performance, etc) in Creo 3.0 very shortly. I'd be happy to discuss more if you want to know.
