I am using b-7 alloy right now but would like something stronger. Going to a larger threaded rod is possible but with substantial rework required.

B-7 is approx 125,000 tensile can anything available beat this?

Thanks!

Standard threaded fasteners, such as Grade 10.9, are made to 150,000 psi minimum tensile strengths. Fastener size drives the alloy grade. There is even a higher strength grade, 12.9, that is about 177,000 psi minimum tensile strength. Seems there should be something available for you.

Be careful, as you increase in strength other design factors come into play like increased susceptibility to hydrogen embrittlement and stress corrosion cracking, depending on the application (environment).
