We have an existing piping for two chemicals like Oxygen Scavenger (Suregard 1700) and Corrosion Inhibitor (Tri-Act 1800)were the two chemicals combined in concentrated form before going into the Dearator.

Is this normal design? Will this cause any problem to the boiler like high iron content? The existing boiler is low pressure boiler.

tnx

Typically, 2 treatment solutions are injected separately due to a chance of concentrates reacting. Ask your vendor; maybe OK when diluted with 1 or 2 volumes of DI water.

Please provide more info about your chemicals (at least MSDS info); for a low pressure system, I would expect KOH (for pH), sulfite or other oxygen scavenger and cyclohexylamine or similar for condensate system protection.

What are the pH, ORP and other boilerwater analyses? Rust could be the result of heavy oxygen or CO[sub]2[/sub] loading if lots of cold condensate from frequent shutdowns, e.g., system operating one shift per day. Any problems with the rest of your system?
