Water at 70 F is flowing at the rate of 5 gal/min through a 2-inch diameter tube. The viscosity at this temperature is 0.98 cP. What is the value of the Reynolds number? Thank you.

You should be able to work out from the equation below.

The Reynolds number is defined as:

where:

ρ is the density of the fluid (SI units: kg/m3)
u is the flow speed (m/s)
L is a characteristic linear dimension (m)
μ is the dynamic viscosity of the fluid (Pa·s or N·s/m² or kg/(m·s))
ν is the kinematic viscosity of the fluid (m²/s).
