What frequency response do you need? what sensitivity? what environmental factors?
I think an Endevco 222 (from memory) is a light small accelerometer. Cheers
Well I meant sensitivity in mV/g or something, but that doesn't really matter, since any small accelerometer will manage that sort of frequency range, and as a rule of thumb the smaller the accelerometer the less the sensitivity.
So, try the Endevco, I'm sure they have an online catalogue.
Seal all your microdot connections with Silastic or equivalent to prevent oil ingress.
Cheers
Actually I have found that the vibration acceleration levels on a machine tool are quite low. Depending on what is being done, the feed speeds are low and the machine is very massive (larger machines of course). I would not use anything less than 100 mV/g sensitivty which is about 3/4 inches in diameter. C. Hugh
