Hello all,

First of all, I am brand new to Abaqus. Today I was able to import my Creo assembly using .stp and created instances for each part in the assembly. I created a material and assigned it to each part of the assembly. Then meshed each part using tet. I believe my next step is to define the constraints.

1. New part must have a fatigue strength appropriate to support a 20kg load TBDmm forward, 40mm up, and 40mm to the side of the front of the part under 6G - 10Hz Sinusoidal excitation for 1,000 Hrs (5% of time * 20,000 Hr. life).

2. New part must survive 1680N overload force applied at location described in requirement #3 in the down direction. This will simulate 95% percentile operator body weight with a 1.5x factor of safety.

Those are the two tests I am attempting to perform. Any and all help is welcomed.

Thank you.

Odds are you are new to FEM, and not just Abaqus. If that is the case, I would highly recommend going through the Getting Started Guide (pretty much all of it) and a few chapters in the CAE User's Guide and the Analysis User's Guide. You may end up spending a couple of weeks or more on these chapters but they will go a long way in gaining a solid understanding of the fundamentals, without which you will be on thin ice.
