Not sure whether to use a pressure vacuum breaker or a reduced pressure assembly. I have a max pressure of 80psi and a 1" cold water pipe.

At that low of pressure and with that small of pipe, I would imagine a check valve alone would suffice.

If the supply is apotable water supply, you will need a vacuum breaker tand anti-siphon to protect the potable water supply. also add anti-sudsing agent to fountain.

If there is potential for back flow, then you will need a reduced pressure zone backflow preventor.

If no potential for back flow then a pressure vacuum breaker will work. Use one similar to what is used for landscape irrigation systems.
