Hello everyone,

I presume this is a silly question for most of you but i can't seem to understand how to report mechanical values for steels acc. to ASTM A29. The european standard i'm used to are structured differently and i find ASTM hard to get used to.

I now have a customer asking for 1561 acc. ASTM A29, with certificate reporting chemical composition and mechanical values. My question is what mechanical values do i need to report (tensile? impact? hardness?) and what should be the sample state(+N,+QT)?

If someone can provide a detailed answer to improve my ability to understand ASTM standards it would be greatly appreciated. I'm a young european engineer, working in quality, doing mostly feasibility analysis and certification, all help is welcome.
Thanks in advance.

Bogdan
