What's the purpose of hydrogen probe installed.....

I'm currently working in refinery industry.
I have had something to see what is the purpose of hydrogen probe installed on pressure vessure.

The name of pressure vessels are primary and sponge absorber,lean gas knock out drum,stripper,debuthanizer.

hydrogen is throughout the refinery and it ends up in the light ends. Hydrogen is not friendly to vessels and they must be checked periodically to see if hydrogen is present and is actively impinging the vessels which may lead to vessels failing.
